For me [Frank], after losing my confidence that Sahaj Marg is not a religion, it was useful to read the speeches and books, just to see if my new perspective on the Sahaj Marg was consistent with what has been said and written. Thus, I found that there are many passages where I used to spend on inconsistencies in trust with the master and the system, but without that trust simply emerge as a moral pressure , trial and indoctrination.
I fell a few letters of Babuji in Chari, where Babuji is concerned about the complexion (skin) to possible wives for her son. Would you believe that? it can be found in Volume III of "Letters of the Master" around 1969-1970. Culturally / traditionally in India, the dark complexion of the wives was (and still is for many people) considered less desirable, and you can read for yourself that Babuji made it a point to ask Shari on the complexion of a potential candidate. This from a "Special Character" ...
I reproduce the relevant parts of these letters below, but I'll replace names with blanks for the protection of privacy, because the Internet is not the same as the publication of an obscure spiritual group.

October 31, 1969 Letter from Babuji to Chari (only the relevant quote):
"An Officer In The Ministry of Home Affairs has Negotiations for marriage Started With His daughter Umesh. I have a mind to finalize the marriages of Umesh Without consulting HIM if he Does not object. Shall I Give Him a good match. I Received The photo of the girl today. The face-cut is good and I am Told by one of my near relative That She has white complexion. "

Here the description of the girl ends completely, it no longer mentions it in this letter. As you can see, Babuji focuses primarily on the "cup face" and the white skin ... it's really superficial (especially in light of the cultural bias that I have noted), and also in my opinion completely against everything that Sahaj Marg is supposed to defend.
Some time later, the marriage is not yet concluded, and there are two revealing letters, l'une de Chari, l'autre de Babuji. Les mots sont peu nombreux, mais je trouve qu'ils sont très révélateurs de leurs intentions.
Lettre de Chari à Babuji le 16 mars 1970 (page 72 du même livre):
"A gentleman by name Mr. S-- S-- and his wif called on us yesterday evening on behalf of Shri RPS-- of Hardoi, said to be a retired sessions judge and a close associate of your family for the last 25 years. They came to meet us and Chi. Umesh in connection with a proposal to marry Sow. C--, one of the daughters of the judge Shri RP--. The girl is stated to be an MA, a good artist in painting, well versed in domestic duties, but complexion is "savla". Mrs. I Have Requested. S - S - Who is related to Mr. RP - That she should "write to Mr. RP - to contact you directly. They Will I trust do so. "

is the complete passage relevant to this letter. I'm sure you can see the implication of this little phrase: ... But the foundation is" Savli "... ( 'Savli' means dull and is generally considered less desirable than clear or white)

Then Babuji meets March 27, 1970:
"Mr. CA R-- has suggested a good match for Umesh at Bombay. The father of the girl is going to present Rs. 5000/- in cash to the boy, and jewellery worth Rs. 5000/- plus other things as a gift. I respect the opinion of your father but I have already given consent to the person at Moradabad. I have written to him that I like the girl and when you approve the boy I may proceed towards the finalisation. The girl is second class MA in Psychology, fair complexioned and having good cut and her height is good. There is no question of dowry from my side. The father of the girl is Divisional Signal Engineer, Northern Railway, Moradabad, and the family is well-educated. The father of the girl will also go to Madras after 4th April 1970 to see Umesh. His name is RN -. "
